In Loving Memory of Dr. Linda Ahuna-Hamill
Linda Mae Ahuna-Hamill, age 57, of Fort Collins, Colorado passed away on Friday, 5/22/15 while undergoing treatment for liver cancer at the Anschutz Medical Center in Aurora, Colorado. As a California native and long-time resident of Fort Collins, Linda obtained her Ph.D. in Sociology from Colorado State University and enjoyed working for over 30 years with that same institution. She began her career by creating and administering the advocacy office that became known as the Asian Pacific American Cultural Center (APACC), and made her final contributions as the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs.
Her love of life, sense of humor, intelligence and compassion created a very large community of friends and family. Those that Linda left behind include: husband, Albert Ahuna-Hamill; daughter Kylia Ayame Ahuna; stepdaughter, Laura; stepson, Thomas; mother Ayame Ahuna; sisters Carol and Patti, and; brothers James and Kevin. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other individuals who were privileged to know Linda’s strength and grace.
On 5/30/2015, Colorado State University conducted a special program to celebrate Linda’s life. The program may be viewed below.
